tesa® Softprint 52017 Steel Master (STM) is a high-performance double-coated foam tape designed for mounting photopolymer plates in flexographic label printing. Engineered with a highly compressible PE foam backing and tackified acrylic adhesive, this tape ensures superior print quality, especially for screen and line work applications.
The soft foam structure provides excellent compression and recovery behavior, allowing consistent ink transfer and sharp print results even in high-speed and long print runs. Its low thickness tolerance enables quick print setup while reducing material waste.
The tape offers strong adhesion on both sides—secure bonding to steel cylinders or sleeves and reliable grip on printing plates—preventing movement, edge lifting, or misalignment. At the same time, its controlled adhesion properties allow easy repositioning and clean demounting without residue.
A structured PP liner helps prevent air entrapment during plate mounting, ensuring bubble-free application and improved efficiency.
